Douglas Melton, Ph.D.
Dr. Melton is the Thomas Dudley Cabot Professor in the Natural Sciences and Co-Chair of the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University. He is also Co-Director of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator. Dr. Melton is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine and recent awards include the Lounsberry Medal from the National Academy of Sciences, the Joslin Medal, and the Scientific American Policy Leader of the Year. His laboratory focuses on stem cell biology and making pancreatic tissue for the treatment of diabetes.
